More About the Dance Program

Culture Bolt, founded and directed by award winning Choreographer/Director Hassan Christopher, offers the most groovy, beginner-accessible, and authentic dance classes in get down urban and contemporary dance styles. From Hip Hop to Jazz and everything in between, Culture Bolt classes use a fun follow-along format that allows students of all levels to learn at their own pace.

Wether a total novice or a life long movement junkie, we invite you to try a single drop-in dance class. Come party and dance with us. We invite you to discover the power of movement and getting down to make-you-wanna-move music. In fact, every class features a curated playlist and sometimes a live DJ to boost that party-life vibe.

Partner Locations

Instructors currently offer single drop-in dance classes at Danzversity in North Central Austin. Additionally, instructors hold classes at Sky Candy in East Austin and coming soon at the Sanctuary, a Yoga and Event Space in South Austin at the Amala Foundation.

Your First Studio Class (and all others)

For your first class, please arrive at least 10 minutes early. This will give the instructor time to greet and check you in as well as orient you a bit before class starts. Please wear comfortable loose clothing and for most classes, closed-toe shoes with low-friction soles. These may include tennis shoes and jazz shoes.

Note: some classes may not require shoes, but rather socks or bare feet. Please look for any specific notes emailed after checkout for each class. Please also bring a water bottle and feel free to take short breaks as needed. Most classes are 50 minutes in duration, including a 2 to 3 minute water break 15 to 20 minutes into class. Lastly, we empower you to take care of yourself during class by modifying moves as needed to accommodate any physical limitations.
